US Endowment for Forestry and Communities
Branded Documentary

An award-winning documentary for the US Endowment for Forestry and Communities — screened at the White House to secure national funding for America's working forests.

Forestry rarely gets a seat at the table where funding decisions are made. The US Endowment for Forestry and Communities needed a film that could change that — something compelling enough to play at the White House and move the needle on forestry funding nationwide.

We filmed the initial bridge construction process, then spent days running around Mt. Shasta, California and the surrounding towns — capturing the people, the work, and the landscape behind America's forests. Shot on ARRI Alexa Mini LF with a look influenced by Kodak Portra 400: warm, human, honest.

This is what an Empathy Machine does. It takes an issue most people never think about and makes it impossible to ignore — even in Washington.
