Real life, in medium format
Photography for the Inland Northwest's largest credit union — grounded in the community it was built to serve.
STCU started in 1934 with a shoebox of cash and a bell on a rope outside a Spokane classroom. Ninety years later it's the Inland Northwest's largest credit union, but the brand promise never changed: here for good. They needed imagery that proved it — photography that felt like the Northwest, not like a bank.
Commissioned by Colormatics—a powerhouse production house with a local presence—I shot the campaign on Hasselblad medium format cameras, building every frame around motion, life, and realism. Real people, mid-moment, the kind of images where you can feel the air in the room.
Medium format was a deliberate choice. The detail and depth it renders gives everyday scenes a weight and presence you can't fake in post. It makes the ordinary feel considered, which is exactly what a community brand needs: proof that it sees its people clearly.
The result is a library of grounded, human images that root a major regional brand in local reality.
